Lost your account number

What to try if you no longer have the 32-character number, and what we can and cannot do about it. We cannot reset it.

Updated October 9, 2026

We cannot recover or reset an account number. There is no email address or password behind it, and nothing on our side that proves an account was yours. That is deliberate: see the account number.

First, look for a device that still has it

  • iPhone, iPad and Mac: on the device that created the account, open Account and choose Show account number. The number is kept in iCloud Keychain, so another Apple device on the same iCloud account, with Keychain turned on, may show it too.
  • Android: open Account and choose Reveal. It may ask you to confirm it is you first.
  • Other devices: a device that signed in by typing the number in can show it too. A device that never held the number cannot.

If you paid in the App Store or Google Play

You do not need the number to keep Premium on the device that paid: sign in to the same store account and choose Restore Purchases. See Restore your Premium. The number only matters for sharing one subscription across devices that do not share a store account.

If you paid on the web

A card or crypto purchase is tied to the number. Without it, we cannot restore the subscription. If you paid by card, support can ask the processor to refund what is left of it. A crypto purchase buys a fixed term and cannot be refunded.

What not to do

Do not send an account number to anyone, support included. Support never needs it: Account → Get help gives you a short-lived code to read out instead.
