Waiting for a free device slot: what the ForestVPN message cp.member_pending means, why it appears and what to do about it.

The app says: "Your account already has 16 devices connected. Remove one to connect this one."
What it means
The account has the most devices connected at once, so this one waits for a slot.
What to do
Remove a device from the account, then connect. Older apps say instead: open ForestVPN on one of your other devices and tap Allow.
Why it happens
Only a fixed number of your devices can be in the private network at the same time.
Where you see it
The apps that have the private network show this message, on the Devices and Locations screens. The code is cp.member_pending.
