Your network appears to be blocking VPNs: what the ForestVPN message net.interference means, why it appears and what to do about it.
Updated October 11, 2026
The app says: "Your network appears to be blocking VPNs."
What it means
ForestVPN sees signs that this network is dropping or interfering with VPN traffic. It cannot be certain; the signs match a block.
What to do
Try a different network, such as mobile data. Where the app offers a backup route, use it.
Why it happens
Some networks (a workplace, a school, a hotel, a country) filter VPN traffic. The block is on the network, not on your account.
Where you see it
The ForestVPN apps show this message on the connection screen, and in a notification when it affects your connection. The code is net.interference.
