This router cannot run ForestVPN

This router cannot run ForestVPN: what the ForestVPN message ne.host_unsupported means, why it appears and what to do about it.

Updated October 11, 2026

The app says: "Nothing was installed. Nothing on your router changed."

What it means

The router failed a check before anything was changed. The message names the reason.

What to do

Use ForestVPN on each device instead, and see the routers that work. Do not retry the install.

Why it happens

The processor type is not supported yet, the router has less than 128 MB of memory or too little free storage, its firmware has no part to make a tunnel, or its firewall lacks nftables.

Where you see it

A router shows this message on its own ForestVPN page, in the router's web page under Services. The code is ne.host_unsupported.
