Insecure connection refused
Insecure connection refused: what the ForestVPN message cp.https_required means, why it appears and what to do about it.
Updated October 11, 2026
The app says: "Insecure connection refused."
What it means
A request went out unencrypted and ForestVPN's service refused it instead of accepting a downgrade.
What to do
Connect again. If it keeps happening, try another network.
Why it happens
A device on your network may be rewriting traffic. ForestVPN refuses plain connections on purpose.
Where you see it
The ForestVPN apps show this message where the step that failed happened. The code is cp.https_required.
